Physical Phonics Merging kinesthetics and language Because learning is FUNdamental, Leaping Literacy brings you ... Physical Phonics! |
---|
Leaping LiteracyTM was, in part, developed on the concept of Physical PhonicsTM. Laurie Story derived this theory based on first language acquisition whereby language development is always contextual and physical.
For young, emerging readers and for 2nd language learners, having physical, kinesthetic applications of the printed words is not only efficient but FUN. We all learn best when we are engaged and having fun.
In each vowel section and throughout the ABC's, there are Physical PhonicsTM applications. There's at least 1 page devoted to Physical Phonics in each vowel section as well as songs and rhymes for each letter of the alphabet. Here's two samples, one with alliteration, one with the short a vowel sound. |
